“We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”
Sir Winston Churchill

Current Year (2011-2012)

MOW plans to work with the Ronald McDonald House again.
MOW also plans to have some community service projects that families can be involved in together.

2010-2011

MOW adopted the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill this year.
We were able to donate items for the house, make them brunch, and we donated a new 42" flat screen television that is hanging in their new family room at UNC-Chapel Hill, as well as magazine subscriptions.

There was a fire that destroyed a home in Wakefield.
MOW donated a $50 Walmart gift card and several new toys to the Johnson family

We also helped InterACT this year by purchasing/donating items for their "Holiday Bazaar" as well as volunteering there.

Previous Years

MOW has sponsored the Masonic Home in Oxford, NC for many years. As Christmas we sponsored a cottage and made sure the kids got everything they wanted for teh holidays. We spent time with them at dinners and we put on an egg hunt with prizes for the kids and their families.

MOW has partnered with the UNC student group Operation Building Courage. This organization provides personalized teddy bears to children at UNC Hospitals and other local facilities that serve children in need. The bears we are making will be going to The Family Violence Prevention Center of Orange County. These bears are a source of comfort for children who are escaping from domestic violence with their mothers. The moms and kids make a number of bears for specific kids decorated in things they liked.

We wanted out kids inv0lved so we did a “Coins for Courage” campaign where kids donated coins to help buy some of the bears.
